I recently accepted a position with Martha and Mary at Home. Martha and Mary is a nonprofit organization with Christian values that is based in Poulsbo, Washington. I have the distinct privilege of becoming acquainted with people who need some help to live as independently as possible in their homes or other settings.
The people I have met so far are unique, having had vastly different life experiences and family situations. It seems so natural to listen and relate to them--many times as soon as we have met.
The wonderful staff at Martha and Mary At Home pair us up skillfully. They have insights into the family situation and my personality and strengths. I have been a helper in seemingly small ways, but not small to my clients!
I have two clients with whom I meet on a regular basis at this time. I also am available to help with others as the needs arise. What a privilege to serve these guys and their families at their time of need.
